Gofio is the oldest known food of the Canary Islands and even today it is still famous. Gofio is a mixture of barley, wheat and corn. It contains, besides the added sea salt, no preservatives and dyes, but it is rich in vitamins, proteins and minerals. You can serve it cold and also with cream cheese, bananas, honey or raisins. In Cotillo you can eat the typical Canarian food for example in Bar Central or in the Central or the fish restaurant Marisma. We have already tried it and can tell you: It’s pretty powerful!
