Explore the world, new surf spots and enjoy good food. All this includes “The Surf Café Cookbook “. It tells a story about cooking and surfing on the west coast of Ireland and the Shells Café, jointly owned by Jane and Myles Lamberth. After long-lasting stays in various corners of the world, they found in a small place called Strandhill, right on the beach, finally the most appropriate location and fulfilled their dream of owning a cafe. On their travels through Africa, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa both have seen many different ways of living and cooking: They brought back some ideas for good menus from France and the USA, coffee skills from Wellington / New Zealand. The result is a very colourful and creative mix of different flavours. The book contains not only recipes, that are typical for the Shells Café, but also inviting illustrations and lots of pictures and descriptions of the place, the people living there, the surf spots and surf culture. The recipes are selected according to different themes (“dishes from the ocean”, “summertime”, “soul food” ). Also for large festivals, such as Easter, Christmas etc. there are typical Irish descriptions and recipe ideas. A large part of “The Surf Café Cookbook” is also dedicated to the purchase and the description of the food. We, from Surfcamp Fuerteventura have already looked into the book and took some notes for the one or other recipe idea for breakfast and supper…
