The light house in the North of El Cotillo just catches your eyes when you are on your way to the North shore. The tower with its classic red and white paint is a real eye-catcher. From the platform, in a high of 38 meters, the visitors have a fantastic view to the small lagoon beaches at the coast.
For 127 years, it’s a reference point for boats and fishermen. Who is a bit interested in the lifestyle and the people of Fuerteventura, should definitely do a side trip to Faro de Toston. The fishermen museum “Museo de la Pesca” is also located right there. There you find out what fishes exist in the domestic waters and which significance they have for the small village Cotillo.
