You are infected by the surf fever and want to know something about surf lessons? Currently you see surfing everywhere, on TV and in adverts. During the last years surf fashion became a lifestyle and there are more and more standing waves in Germany where you can start surfing.

Nothing is impossible, but if you ask us if that is a good way to try and learn this amazing sport, we would answer with “no”. Instead of going on a surf trip by yourself we would recommend you to stay in a surf camp or take classes in a good surfschool. There are many factors that are in favor of that, and just like that you can kill two birds with one stone: You have an amazing time with like-minded people and can learn to surf in a professional surf school, in a professional surf lesson.

But I know how to snowboard & skate – do I really need to take surf lessons?

You have some experience in snowboarding, skating or wakeboarding? Maybe even wind surfing and now you think that surfing can’t be that big of a deal… unforturnately you are wrong. Those sports will certainly improve your body awareness, your body tension as well as your balance, but you can’t compare them to surfing. In a surf lesson a professional surf coach will show you the right technique, which saves you the time to learn by try and error. You won’t get used to wrong automatisms, which will later make it difficult for you when you have to unlearn them.

Learn to surf by yourself or with the help of a surf coach?

A surf coach will give you professional guidance, help you with his individual feedback and knows by experience when you are ready to take the next steps in your surf progression. You will feel safer since you’ll get a safety briefing and you will learn to handle the surf equipment correctly. Our surf coaches will motivate you again and again. Surfing needs practice, practice and… practice! But how can you do this whilst living in mainland Europe far away from the ocean? We listed some things for you, from an indoboard to the carver skateboard, to other great practice possibilities. But yes, let’s not pretend, all those gadgets are great for the landlocked surfers but they won’t replace surfing in the ocean.
